HISTORY

Mike has a national reputation as a trumpet soloist and learnt his music trade mainly from being a principal player in all the groups playing in concerts for the Staff Band of the Royal Artillery where he was solo player in Wind Bands, Orchestras and Big Bands.

Since leaving the Army he has devoted many years to playing and teaching, was responsible for a County Music Service and as a professional teacher saw many players graduate to the profession. He has also taken music groups abroad and conducted in the finals of all the band festivals.

Currently he directs two bands and does a large amount of professional playing in functions ranging from church weddings to jazz festivals. Mike continues to study and give lessons mainly on trumpet and he believes fervently in the community benefits of music.
